Any visible blemishes like cracks, cold partitions, and misplaced boxes are unacceptable, as they could hinder the fittings' performance. However, localized defects that diminish the thickness of the wall are permissible, as long as their depth does not surpass (2+0.05T) mm, where "T" represents the wall thickness of the pipe body.
The ductile iron pipe flange must have a distinct spare contour that is free from any casting flaws that can hinder its functionality.
If the buyer agrees, minor defects that are specific to a particular area can be fixed. However, the mended fittings need to be put through a water or air pressure test to confirm their effectiveness in preventing leakage.
